Chief Chris Habekost Chris was raised on Martha’s Vineyard and has lived here since 1973. Chris previously worked for the Edgartown and West Tisbury Police Departments and started as a Special Police Officer in Tisbury in 1998. Chris was selected as a full-time recruit officer in July of 2003 and subsequently graduated from the Weymouth regional police academy in March of 2004. Chris was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2012 and then interim Chief in July of 2021. Chris lives in Edgartown with his wife Marcela and their three children, one of whom has special needs. Chris is active with his family’s lifestyle and activities and enjoys spending time on home improvement and classic truck restoration.

Bill, his wife and daughter have enjoyed visiting Martha's Vineyard for over 20 years. Recently he and his family moved and became full time residents of the Island. Bill began his career in law enforcement in 2000 with the Dedham Police Department where he worked for 6 years. After buying a home in Franklin MA, he transferred to the Franklin Police Department where he worked as a patrolman for 6 years, then an additional 7 years as Sergeant. Bill and his family enjoy the outdoors, fishing, boating, and are very involved with their daughter’s Equestrian career. Lieutenant Bill Brigham
